I was doing just fine on Mum's breast and by my fifth week after birth (or 34 weeks of gestation) I was up to two breast feeds a day. That meant I got to see lots of Mum. She came at 9 am for my first feed. Then at 1 pm I got a gavage feed, then at 5 pm I got the breast again. I guess I kept Mum pretty busy.

Sucking on Mum's breast really tires me out -- that's why I only do it twice a day. But I needed to get fed six times a day. I still had that gavage tube down my nose, they'd use that about for three feeds and then for the sixth feed I would get some of Mum's milk out of a bottle.
