My First Day

Just as they were going to wheel Mummy into the operating theatre, my Grandma Mercy showed up. Perfect timing! She got on the first flight out of Perth that morning.
Dad wanted to see me born so he had to dress up like a doctor. His job was to hold Mummy's hand.
In the operating theatre there were all these people clustered around Mummy. At least 12 people! They put a curtain up between Mummy's tummy and her head so she couldn't see. Mummy kept telling Dad to have a peak but he just wanted to watch Mummy. I wonder why?
They had to deliver me by a Caesarean Section but Mummy didn't feel any pain. She had an epidural. (I know all these big words because I've heard them so many times now!).
The first thing I heard was "Look at all the black hair!". That was the doctor's voice. Her name was Jody and she was a young and very nice doctor.
The doctors put down the curtain between me and Mummy and the first thing I saw when I came out was Mummy and Daddy staring at me. It was 5.03 pm. A great time for afternoon birthday parties!
Then all the commotion started ...
