Mumma's Milk

This was the day I eagerly awaited. The day when I would get some decent 'tucker' in my tummy. And today's 'breakie' came from the best possible source: Mum.

I'm much too young to suckle and swallow, so I had to use what's known as a 'nasogastric feeding'. A thin tube is passed through my nose, down my throat and straight into my little tummy. It pretty much goes down simply by gravity. They give me about 2 mL of the stuff every two hours. I took to the milk right away. No worries.

Mum keeps me well fed. She has to express and then leave the milk in the fridge until I'm ready for it.

If Mum or Dad are around they feed me; otherwise it's one of the fantastic midwives that are always watching over me.
